Organised by Aluminium Europe, Eurelectric and Cefic, this series of dialogues examined key questions around barriers and possible remedies to industrial electrification, including:
- How can electricity market development, including the development and integration of flexibility markets, as well as its interface with carbon markets, aid in industrial electrification and competitiveness?
- Taxes, levies constitute a considerable share of EU electricity costs. How can these be set in a way that incentivises industrial electrification and consumption, whilst maintaining fair burden-sharing between parties and lower system costs?
- How can the financing of renewable and low-carbon technology be facilitated to drive their swift scale-up?
- How can the EU advance grid development and industrial permitting, in line with the modelled grid needs flowing from industrial electrification, whilst minimising system costs?
